Auditor

You have three options for renewing your vehicle and boat tabs, including renewing online through the Department of Licensing (DOL), in-person at the Auditor's Office or through the mail. Learn more about your options below, including links directly to online renewals.

  1. Renew online through the Department of Licensing. If you choose this option, you can have your new tabs sent directly to you by mail.
      
  2. Renew by visiting our office or one of eight local licensing subagencies in Thurston County.
     
  3. We only accept cash and check for in-office vehicle and vessel transactions, including vehicle and boat tab renewals. If you choose to renew online through DOL, they accept MasterCard, American Express and Visa for payment.
      
  4. Renew by mail, if you received a renewal notice from DOL. Mail a check (made out to "Thurston County Auditor" or "DOL") or money order with correct fees to:

All boat registrations expire on June 30 each year. If you need to license your vessel, you have three options for renewing your tabs:

  1. Renew online through the Department of Licensing. If you choose this option, you can have your new tabs sent directly to you by mail or pick them up at the closest local licensing offices in Thurston County.
         
  2. Renew by visiting our office or one of eight local licensing subagencies in Thurston County. It is helpful to have your WN number, your boat's Hull Identification Number (HIN) or a copy of a prior year's registration.
     
  3. We only accept cash and check for in-office vehicle and vessel transactions, including vehicle and boat tab renewals. If you choose to renew online through DOL, they accept MasterCard, American Express and Visa for payment.
         
  4. Renew by mail, if you received an email reminder from DOL. Make sure to calculate your fees online or call our Licensing team at 360.786.5406 to get the correct fees. You will need your WN number for us to assist you by phone. After calculating the correct fees, mail the check (made out to "Thurston County Auditor" or "DOL") or money order to:
