What to know before you build on shoreline property
If you own shoreline property in unincorporated Thurston County, the County's shoreline codes may apply to your projects. Please check the current code in the 1990 Shoreline Master Program (PDF) before you to build, farm, remove trees or vegetation, or conduct other land-use activities. Here's how:

First, find your current shoreline designation
Each stretch of shoreline is designated (or zoned).

Next, look up approved uses
See which land-use regulations apply within that designation.

If you prefer, contact the County's Permit Assistance Center to speak to a staff member about your specific project or property location.
