Yelm to Tenino Trail Closing Saturday for Seattle to Portland Bike Race
STP uses the trail as part of the route to allow for rider safety

OLYMPIA – On Saturday, July 15, Thurston County Parks will close the Yelm to Tenino trail for most of the day to accommodate the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic (STP). The STP uses the trail as part of the route to allow riders a safer route than using the roadway.

The Yelm to Tenino trail will see approximately 10,000 riders during the day on Saturday. Parks is closing this trail to the general public during the event due to the high volume of riders and possible safety risks.

The trail will be closed on Saturday, from around 8:00 a.m. to approximately 3:00 p.m., allowing some variability depending on the speed of riders. The Chehalis Western Trail will remain open and should be unaffected.
