Thurston County to Update Shoreline Master Program
The community is invited to provide input throughout the process

​OLYMPIA –   Thurston County is working on an update to its Shoreline Master Program and is inviting the community to participate in the process.

County officials plan to host a series of community meetings to educate residents about the Shoreline Master Program update and take comments on proposed updates.

The first meeting in the series will be on October 17, 2017 at the Thurston County Courthouse Complex, Building 1, Room 152, 2000 Lakeridge Dr. SW, Olympia.

When: Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at 6:00 p.m.
Where: Thurston County Courthouse, Building 1, Room 152, 2000 Lakeridge Drive, SW, Olympia

The County's current Shoreline Master Program has been in place since 1990. New rules from Washington's shoreline regulatory body, the Department of Ecology (DOE), have led to updates to shoreline programs in counties throughout the state.

To learn more about the Shoreline Master Program, visit our website at and select 'Shoreline Master Plan' under 'Planning Links' on the left. Future meeting dates will be announced at the October 17, meeting and posted online.
