OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Auditor's Office is celebrating Temperance and Good Citizenship tomorrow, January 15th, 2021.
All citizens should take the opportunity to make sure their voter registration is up to date. Also, Washington residents ages 16 and 17 can preregister to vote. Students and educators in Thurston County are encouraged to visit the Secretary of State's website for resources on good citizenship and the history of the day.
"We know that the sooner young people start voting, the faster it becomes a life-long habit," said Mary Hall, Thurston County Auditor. "Today is a day for everyone to encourage voter registration and other acts of good citizenship."
Temperance and Good Citizenship Day is one of three civic observances in State of Washington. Many schools conduct voter registration drives and other activities on this day. More information can be found at sos.wa.gov or by visiting us at ThurstonVotes.org.
