Frequently Asked Questions

Already registered to vote?
Find out what to expect if you are a military or overseas voter and already registered to vote.

​We send ballots to confirmed military and overseas voters 30 days (for special elections) to 45 days (for primary and general elections) prior to the election date. If your address or name changes, you can update your registration information:

  • By remote means up to 8 days before the election date. Information must be received by an elections official.
  • In person by you or an immediate family member at your county auditor's office or other designated locations through 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Registered but need extra time?

​You can receive and return your ballot electronically. You will need the internet and a printer so you can print and sign the declaration before returning the ballot.

Receiving an electronic ballot

You have two options for receiving an electronic ballot:

Returning your electronic ballot

To return your ballot electronically, print the ballot, sign and date the declaration. Send your signed declaration, privacy sheet (optional) and voted ballot by email to or by fax to 360.705.3518.

Your electronic ballot is due in our office by 8:00pm PT on Election Day. You don't need to mail the paper ballot if you're returning your ballot electronically.
