The purpose of this General Election is to elect a Drainage or Special District Commissioner. To be eligible to vote in this election, starting at least 30 days prior to the election date, you must both own property in the district and be a registered voter in the State of Washington.

Who Can Vote

Please carefully read the following to determine which ownership applies to you:

  • If you own your land as a singular property owner, you are entitled to vote the enclosed ballot.
  • If your property is community property (two people own it jointly), each owner is eligible to vote one ballot. However, one person may choose to designate in writing (form included) that the other may vote all ballots. If only one is an eligible voter, that person should vote all ballots.
  • In the case of a corporation or partnership one or two persons must be designated in writing (form included) to vote the enclosed ballots. In the case of multiple undivided interests, other than community property interests, in which no one person owns a majority undivided interest, the owners of the undivided interests at least equal to a majority interest may designate in writing:
    • Which owner is eligible to vote and may cast all votes; or
    • Which two owners are eligible to vote and may cast one ballot each.

If you have questions concerning your eligibility or any other questions, contact our office at 360.786.5408 or elections@co.thurston.wa.us.
