The content on the Thurston County website is currently provided in English. We are providing the “Translation” for approximately 10 languages. The goal of the translation is to provide visitors with limited English proficiency to access information on the website in other languages. The translations do not translate all types of documents, and it may not give you an exact translation all the time. The translations are made through an automated process, which may not result in accurate or precise translations, particularly of technical and legal terminology.

Community Planning and Economic Development

The Nisqually Subarea Plan guides county government policies and plans for future development in the Nisqually planning area over the next 20 years. The Nisqually Subarea Plan is part of the larger Thurston County Comprehensive Plan and was last revised in 1992. The updated version will reflect new community goals and align with current laws and regulations.

The update is not yet written, and will be jointly planned between Thurston County staff, residents, and organizations within the Nisqually Planning Area. Please join us for the Summer 2025 focus groups to be a part of the plan's design and process!
