Cooling Centers

General Cooling Center Information

Cooling centers are spaces open to the public to cool down during hot weather. Many structures in Western Washington lack adequate air conditioning, and it is important to know where you can go to cool off and maintain your normal body temperature.

In Thurston County, cooling centers are typically activated when the National Weather Service HeatRisk  is forecast to be Level 3 (Major) or higher in Thurston County.

This list of cooling centers is subject to change based on the availability of the individual locations to provide services to the public. To ensure the cooling center will be open at the time of your visit, please contact the location before traveling there.
