Health Coverage Tax Forms
Important information regarding tax form 1095-C
Thurston County employees now have convenient electronic access to their 1095-C tax forms through TC Connect. This change provides faster, more secure delivery and supports streamlined access to important tax-related documents. This update aligns with the Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA), specifically H.R.3797, which reduces administrative burden for employers and
enhances accessibility for employees.
The IRS Form 1095-C reports the health care coverage offered to eligible employees during the previous tax year. While Thurston County is required to make this form available, employees do not need to file it with their federal tax return and do not need to wait for it to complete their tax filing. The IRS has confirmed that tax filing may proceed without this form.
Employees who prefer to receive a paper copy by mail can update their Document Delivery Preferences in TC Connect.
Former employees and those covered on the Uniform Medical Retiree or Uniform Medical COBRA plans may request a copy of the form to be mailed at any time by contacting benefits@co.thurston.wa.us or by calling Human Resources at 360-786-5498.
