What is the Living Well Thurston Workshop?

A self-management resource program with the Self-Management Resource Center

  • Interactive, supportive, skill building workshop for people with chronic physical or mental health conditions (Chronic Conditions workshop), or chronic pain (Chronic Pain workshop) and their caregivers.
  • Get help controlling your symptoms, better manage your health and lead a fuller life.
  • Led by two skilled, trained leaders living with their own health challenges.
  • Sessions are held in-person and occur once a week for 2 ½ hours over six weeks.
  • Based on the Self-Management Resource Center's Chronic Disease Self-Management Program.

Thurston County Public Health & Social Services Department is proud to offer this program free to participants. It also includes either a Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions book (Chronic Conditions workshop) or a Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Pain book (Chronic Pain workshop).

  • Conditions like diabetes, heart disease, cancer, arthritis, depression, multiple sclerosis, and chronic pain. 

What is a chronic pain?

  • Pain that is long term or long lasting.
  • Conditions such as back pain, arthritis, and headaches.
