Thurston County Solid Waste is committed to its goal of waste reduction, reuse, and recycling. The HazoHouse Reuse Program is designed to reduce the volume of hazardous items that must be treated and disposed of, while providing Thurston County 501(c)(3) nonprofits the opportunity to receive usable products at no cost. Before being released to the public, reuse items are inspected and deemed eligible by staff to ensure that they are in their original containers, have at least ¾ of the product left, and provide legible labels, warnings, and usage information. 

Items for reuse may include: 

  • Household Cleaners 
  • Soaps 
  • Detergents  
  • Automotive Cleaners & Oils  

How to Participate 

The HazoHouse Reuse Program is available April 1 until October 31, Monday Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

  1. Complete the liability waiver.
  1. Await review by Thurston County Solid Waste staff. 
  1. Receive approval for participation. 
  1. Schedule an appointment by calling the HazoHouse at (360) 867-2912. Approved 501(c)(3) nonprofits are limited to 1 visit per day and 10 items per visit. Materials are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
