Public Works

Burfoot Park covers 65 acres of property with 1,100 feet of saltwater beach frontage on Budd Inlet. It is a Nationally Recognized spot for polar plunges, ranking #11 on the AMFM Polar Plunge list! Visitors can enjoy nature trails and beach access that feature beautiful views of the State Capitol and the Olympic Mountains.

  • Boat Launch - 73rd Ave. NE, Olympia, WA 98506 (Boat launch facilities are available 1/2 mile north of the park at the Boston Harbor Boat Launch)

Park Use Guidelines

To ensure a safe and enjoyable visit, please follow these rules:

  • Supervise children closely.
  • Stay on the paths and designated areas.
  • Be aware of uneven surfaces.
  • Leash and clean up after your pet.
  • Parks are for day use only.
  • Gates are locked at dusk.
  • Park in designated parking and remove your car before closing hours.

For the safety and comfort of all visitors, the following are not allowed in Thurston County Parks:

  • Bonfires
  • Loudspeakers
  • Fireworks
  • Firearms / Hunting
  • Livestock
  • Bounce houses
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Metal detectors
  • Smoking / Vaping of any product
