New Helicopter for Thurston Sheriff Aviation Program

Thurston County Sheriff's Office's (TCSO) helicopter upon arrival in Olympia.  It will be painted, TCSO's logo applied, and eventually upfitted with police equipment.

Human External Cargo System

A human external cargo (HEC) system is fitted to helicopters for life saving missions

A human external cargo (HEC) system will be attached to the helicopter to safely extricate or insert people into rescue missions.

The Aviation Program Donation Fund seeks to support the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit for search and rescue missions and other air support operations. Contributions from generous community members will help the Sheriff’s Office provide enhanced public safety services to Thurston County and our governmental partners. The Aviation Program Donation Fund was created through a Thurston County Board of County Commissioners’ resolution to collect these donations and utilize them in the most effective, efficient, and transparent manner to ensure donors know exactly where their dollars are being invested.

Monetary gifts to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Donation Fund go toward supporting valuable search and rescue missions, drug trafficking, patrol operations such as pursuit mitigation and K9 overwatch, and natural disaster damage assessments. Dollars contributed will help fund equipment, fuel, insurance, training, and other operational needs to support the unit.
