Food Preservation Workshop
Curious about how to make the most of your garden bounty? Would you love to enjoy the taste of fresh produce in the depths of winter? Feeling down about tossing wasted food? Join Thurston Conservation District for a free hands-on food preservation workshop instructed by Debra Basquez, a certified Master Food Preserver. Participants will learn about dehydration, freezing, and canning as methods to maximize food use while reducing food waste.
The first 24 participants to register will be able to make their own refrigerator-style pickled onions (supplies included at no cost). Bringing a friend? Great! Please make sure to have them register so we can prepare.
