​ENTRY TIMES: BAKING ENTRIES will be accepted Monday, July 29, 1 - 7pm only.
NO LATE ENTRIES Accepted.
PICK-UP FOR RIBBONS or prizes – MONDAY August 5, 1-7pm
*DIVISION J - Y = Youth age 18 and younger

Please refer to the General Rules and Regulations of the Thurston County Fair.

RULES:

  1. Only two entries in any one lot.
  2. No commercial mixes may be used except in special indicated lots or for Decorated Cakes or Cupcakes.
  3. Include recipe on a 3x5 file card. Print exhibitor number in upper right corner. YOUTH (under 18) must list age. Recipes become the property of the Open Class Home Arts Department.
  4. Pies should be exhibited in disposable covered container. Do not enter pies made with dairy or egg products which require refrigeration.
  5. All food entries become the property of the Fair and will not be returned.
  6. A single recipe cannot be entered more than once within one family.
  7. The same recipe cannot be used two years in a row.

If you wish to receive your ribbons and judging sheets and are not available to pick them up on Monday following the fair, please provide a self addressed, business size envelope with 2 oz. postage

A variety of baking aids will be awarded in Open Class Baking to youth and adult entries.

Honey must be used as the only sweetener with no processed sugars such as white, brown or powdered

Judging based on appearance, texture, aroma and flavor
l/4 loaf (with end crust) or three rolls - Include recipe

POINTS:  BLUE - 15  RED - 10  WHITE - RIB

CLASS 2 - QUICK BREAD
Judging based on appearance, texture, aroma and flavor
l/4 loaf (with end crust) or 4 muffin/biscuit - Include recipe

POINTS:  BLUE - 10  RED - 5  WHITE - RIB

  3. Vegetable
  4. Coffee Cake
  5. Muffins
  6. Biscuits
  7. Healthy Choice (five grams fat or less & 150 calories or less per serving)

CLASS 3 - CAKE
Judging based on appearance, texture, aroma and flavor
l/4 cake - frosted or plain - Include recipe\

CLASS 6 - PIES
Judging based on appearance, texture, aroma and flavor
Use Disposable covered container. No pies that require refrigeration will be accepted. Include recipe.
