General requirements

  1. All exhibits must contain some plant material. No artificial plant material permitted.
  2. Plant material must be listed.
  3. No limit on entries per class in Classes 20 & 21.
  4. Limit of 4 entries per class in Classes 19,22,23,24 and 25. Advance registration is required. Contact the Section Consultant.

Section "A" Botanical Arts Horticulture "Horticultura de Arte Botánico" "Brazil’s Geography-Geografía de brasil"

Class:

  1. "High Desert-Desierto Alto" - Low profile succulent dish garden in a terra cotta container provided by the show committee.
  2. "Tropical Forests-bosques tropicales" - Tall branches 30" - 60". Exhibitor will provide a container appropriate to the size of the exhibit. Show committee will stage according to exhibit size.
  3. "Plateau-Meseta" - Tall grasses grasses need not be in bloom 30" - 60". Exhibitor will provide a container appropriate to the size of the exhibit. Show committee will stage according to exhibit size.

Section "B" Botanical Arts Design Diseño de Arte Botánico "Exploring the Amazon"

  1. "Amazonia" – Exploration/Freedom of Style Design (See Glossary of Design in Division II Design section) Features the use of painted or dyed fresh plant materials.
    Floral design must fit within 24" of an 8’ table.

Section "C" " Botanical Arts Crafts- Artesanía botánica

"Carnival-Carnaval"

Note: Exhibit must contain some fresh and/or dried material. Only dried material may be treated. Eligible for the Artistic Crafts Award and the Joann Goldman Artistic Craft Award.

Class:

  1. "Papier Mache to Feathers- Papier Mache to Plumas" - A decorated Carnaval mask no larger than 16"X16" to be staged on a vertical grid by the show committee.
  2. "South American Cowboy-Vaquero Sudamericano" - A decorated male or female Gaucho hat to be staged on 24" of an 8’ table.
  3. "Make some Noise-Haz Ruido" - A decorated purchased maraca, which is a percussion instrument in the form of a hollow gourd or gourd-shaped container filled with dried beans or similar objects and played by being shaken. To be staged on 12" of an 8’ table.
