GeoData System Maintenance
Thurston County ArcGIS Pro Migration Project
Thurston County GeoData is updating all GIS Software as required by the Software Vendor, Esri. During this update all GIS databases, services, and applications must be upgraded to be compatible with the new software version. All GIS services will need to be taken offline to complete the update.
The largest impact to services will be over the course of an extended weekend and several weekdays at the end of October, dates listed below. Additional weekend outages will be required during the course of this update and notifications will be provided in advance when additional outage days are necessary. WHAT: Planned GIS Services Outage and Office Closure
WHEN: October 24-29, 2025
WHY: Required database maintenance and updates.
IMPACTS: All GIS services will be unavailable. This includes:
- All GIS layers in the GeoData Map Viewers
- GIS data downloads
- Thurston County ArcGIS Online Feature Services
County Staff will also not be able to use GIS services during this time. For example, they will not be able to look up parcels to view overlapping mapped information (wetlands, zoning, flood zones, etc.), make changes to parcel boundaries, or provide custom GIS services. This may impact permit reviews, boundary line adjustments, and other processes that use or update GIS information.
Available Mapping Resources During the Outage:
- The GeoData Parcel Information Pages will be available, providing a summary of overlapping mapped features by parcel.
- GeoData Printable Maps will be available to download or print.
Please plan accordingly.
- Download or request data prior to October 24
- Submit custom GIS service requests as soon as possible
- Be aware that response times may be impacted during and after the outage
