Thurston County facilities are now open to the public with restrictions, including maintaining physical distancing of at least six feet at all times and, per the Washington State Secretary of Health’s face covering order wearing a cloth face covering or mask. If you come to county facilities, please be prepared for potentially long wait times or lines due to distancing guidelines. We continue to encourage residents to access county services online, by phone, by email, or through the use of drop boxes located outside of county buildings.

​The county provides coverage for benefits eligible employees with a Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Plan.

Long-Term Disability Insurance

​Long-Term Disability is a benefit that the county provides to most regular employees at no cost. It will replace 60% of your monthly income to a maximum of $6,000. Contact your HR Benefits Team for claims assistance.

Long Term Disability Plan Summary

Voluntary Short-Term Disability

You may pay for Voluntary Short-Term Disability(VSTD).  The STD plan will replace up to 60% of your weekly income to a maximum of $1,000.  This coverage lasts for up to 90 days, or when the LTD plan begins to pay, whichever is earlier.

Voluntary Life Insurance

​On a voluntary basis, you my elect to take an additional Voluntary Life Insurance policy. If you enroll within 31 days of benefit eligibility and meet the active work requirement, you will automatically qualify for up to a set amount of insurance coverage called the "guarantee issue amount."
