Thurston County’s Fall Fix-It Fair Comes to Lacey MakerSpace Wednesday, Nov. 5
Volunteers available from 2:30 – 6:30 p.m. to help repair damaged items and mend clothing.
Olympia – Thurston County’s Solid Waste division and Lacey MakerSpace are hosting a fall Fix-It Fair at the Lacey MakerSpace on Wednesday, November 5 from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Volunteer fixers will be on hand to help repair clothing, lamps, housewares, jewelry, small appliances, and more. The event is free and open to all.
The County’s Fix-It Fair received a 2025 Best in Category award from the National Association of Counties (NACo) for this free community event that brings together people with broken items and volunteer “fixers” to help repair them.
The County’s Solid Waste division organizes Fix-It Fair events to encourage people to repair items instead of buying new. “When you fix items instead of buying new ones, you help reduce waste, support a circular economy, and save money,” said Rob Pudner, County Recycling and Waste Reduction Specialist. “It’s a simple yet powerful way to make a positive impact right here in Thurston County.”
