OLYMPIA – The deadline for Thurston County residents to pay their 2021 second half property taxes is October 31, 2021. Because the 31st falls on a Sunday this year, the law allows the payment to be made the next business day, which is Monday, November 1st without late fees being added.

OLYMPIA – On October 5, the Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) voted, in a 2-1 vote, to move forward with a lease of The Atrium at 3000 Pacific Avenue in Olympia to house the county’s general government operations pending legal confirmation the location meets the requirement set in statute for general operations to be located within the Olympia City limits.

OLYMPIA – Thurston County Public Health and Social Services is reporting a toxic algae bloom at Deep Lake. The state advisory level for Anatoxin, a neurotoxin, is 1.0 ug/L and the lab results show toxin levels of Anatoxin at the sample site at Deep Lake is 1.4 ug/L.

​OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 6, at 7 p.m. to accept public comment on the Up Castle Land Use and Rezone Amendment, a citizen-requested amendment to the Thurston County Comprehensive Plan.
