District Court (case) records

Case records are records that relate to in-court proceedings, including case files, dockets, calendars, and orders. Public access to these records is governed by court rule GR 31, which refers to these records as "court records."

Accessing Case Records Electronically for District Court

To access case records electronically, you must have

  • Case number (also known as citation, infraction, or cause number)
  • For criminal cases or infractions, the law enforcement agency code (the three characters immediately following the case number, i.e., WSP, THC, LYP).

Please note electronic case records may be incomplete. They also do not contain the docket of events occurring on the case. If you do not find what you are looking for, you may submit records request below.

Requesting Case Records for District Court

To request case records filed with Thurston County District Court, complete the online District Court Records Request form.

You may also request by completing the District Court Records Request PDF form, printing it, and mailing it to the address below. If you do not have access to a printer, you may come to the courthouse to complete the form.

Fees for court records are

  • Certified copies - $5.00 per document
    CDs of court proceedings - $20.00 per CD

Administrative records

Administrative records are records that relate to the management, supervision or administration of a court or judicial agency. Access to these records is governed by court rule GR 31.1.

You will receive a response with the fees required to complete the request and information on how to make the payment. Once payment is received, the records will be mailed, emailed or available for pick up at District Court.

Fees for administrative records are

  • Records collection, research and preparation - $30.00 / hour (no charge for the first hour; hours billed in 15-minute increments)
    Copies - $0.15 per page
    CD's - $20.00 per CD
    Postage - actual cost
