The content on the Thurston County website is currently provided in English. We are providing the “Translation” for approximately 10 languages. The goal of the translation is to provide visitors with limited English proficiency to access information on the website in other languages. The translations do not translate all types of documents, and it may not give you an exact translation all the time. The translations are made through an automated process, which may not result in accurate or precise translations, particularly of technical and legal terminology.

Superior Court

Thurston County Dependency Guardian ad Litem Program Volunteers speak up for abused and neglected children who are in the dependency court system.  Thoroughly trained and appointed by a judge, Thurston County Dependency Guardian ad Litem Volunteers investigate a child’s history, facilitate communication between systems, and advocate for a safe, permanent home for the children they represent.

In 2007 the Washington State Legislature allocated more money to Thurston County Dependency Guardian ad Litem Programs across the state.  This allowed Thurston County’s Program to expand to recruit, train and support more volunteers to ultimately serve more dependent children.  The current staff consists of six full time employees.

We also have approximately 50 volunteers and about 300 dependent youth in Thurston County.
