COVID-19 Information
The health, safety and well-being of the employees and community members we serve is top priority for the Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office (PAO). From 8:30 A.M. through 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday, the PAO main office in Courthouse Building 2 will remain open and staffed for essential work and to serve critical needs. The office will close daily between noon and 1:00 P.M. to allow our staff to take a lunch break.

To help you avoid unnecessary trips to the courthouse, we are advising that members of the public first contact the PAO at 360-786-5540 or to see if their matter can be resolved over the phone. Our office is currently operating at limited capacity and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to address your needs.

For Superior Court cases, we recommend checking the State Court’s Odyssey portal for updated case information:

Please review the information provided below to evaluate how recent changes related to the COVID-19 response may impact your business with our office.

If you have received a subpoena from the PAO:

Effective March 17, 2020, Thurston County District Court has suspended all currently scheduled jury trials. Trials will be rescheduled, and witnesses notified when new dates are set.

Thurston County Superior Court has suspended all jury trials scheduled through July 6, 2020. If you have a subpoena for a trial between now and July 6, 2020, please disregard that subpoena. When a new trial date is set, witnesses will be notified.

Support for Victims:

Many victims are understandably experiencing heightened levels of anxiety about their cases during this rapidly changing situation. PAO Advocates are primarily attending community meetings via Skype and Zoom, and many meetings with victims are being conducted telephonically. Victims can call (360) 786-5540 to speak with a victim advocate. Hours of operation may be limited but messages will be checked as often as possible. Many court hearings that were previously scheduled are being cancelled and rescheduled. Advocates are doing their best to continue to notify victims of these changes.

We remain committed to the victims and survivors we serve.

Most Thurston County Courts are limiting calendars and many hearings will be continued. If you are planning to attend a court hearing, avoid an unnecessary trip to the courthouse by calling the PAO first to confirm the hearing is in fact still taking place.
