In response to Governor Inslee's Stay Home, Stay Healthy order, Thurston County has moved to an essential services model, in effect
through Monday, May 4, 2020. Courts and other elected offices may operate under different hours or restrictions.

This division plans for community growth on behalf of the County's elected officials. Every County Code, capital project and zoning change is determined by the County's Comprehensive Plan.  The Comprehensive Plan may be changed to meet changing needs of the community. Amendments may be prompted by citizen request, population growth or changing state law. The amendment process includes public meetings, and guidance by a citizen advisory group called the Planning Commission.
