2019 Color of Justice Event

Color of Justice encourages minority youth to consider legal and judicial careers by bringing them together with judges and lawyers, and providing them with resources to pursue their goals. The program was initiated by the National Association of Women Judges to encourage diversity in the judiciary.  Diversity on the bench is an import goal of the justice system.

Thurston County Superior Court in conjunction with the Superior Court Judges' Association Equality and Fairness Committee held a Color of Justice event on March 21, 2019, where approximately 40 local middle and high schoolers participated in the event.  Local judicial officers and attorneys volunteered their time to participate and mentor the students.  Color of Justice presentation
