Community Planning and Economic Development

The Stormwater Utility's Capital Facilities Plan outlines proposed projects for the next six years.  The Plan includes project descriptions, estimated dates of construction, costs, and proposed methods of financing.

About the CFP

  • Thurston County gets 60+ inches of rain every year, because of this, and the fact that drinking water for 90% of the people who work and live in Thurston County comes from local aquifers, the CFP focus is on investing in flood reduction, protecting water quality and enhancing aquatic habitat in local lakes, streams, wetlands and Puget Sound.
  • Since the first Stormwater Utility CFP in 1998 more than 63 stormwater capital projects and watershed investigation and planning projects have been completed
