Public Invited to Comment on Revisions to the County Emergency Plan
Suggested changes the subject of the August 4 public hearing

Thurston County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, August 4 at 3 p.m. on proposed revisions to the Thurston County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP). The public is invited to participate and Commissioners may act on the proposal at the close of the hearing.

The hearing will be in Room 280 in Building One of the County Courthouse complex at 2000 Lakeridge Drive SW in Olympia.

The Thurston County CEMP has been revised to conform with the Washington State Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan, the National Response Framework and the National Incident Management System.

The purpose of this plan is to guide county government behavior before, during and after a disaster. It defines who does what, when, where, and how, in order to prepare for, respond to, and recover from the effects of natural, technological and human-caused hazards.

A draft of this plan is available at: http://www.co.thurston.wa.us/em/

If you are unable to attend the hearing, written comments may be submitted in lieu of testimony and will be accepted until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4. Please send written comments to James Yates, Emergency Management Coordinator at YatesJ@co.thurston.wa.us, or mail them to:
