Learn how to plan for disasters and partner with emergency management to save lives
OLYMPIA - Community preparedness will be the focus of the Faith Communities Disaster Planning Workshop on Monday, May 9 from 6-9 p.m. at the county's Emergency Management offices on the Tilley Road, south of Tumwater. The workshop is sponsored by Thurston County Emergency Management. -30-
This particular workshop will feature Tim Walsh of the State Department of Natural Resources who will speak on earthquake and tsunami hazards in the south sound area.
The workshops are held to facilitate awareness, provide information, and offer opportunity for faith communities to plan for emergencies and disasters; and to partner with local emergency management in community disaster planning.
The workshop is free and open to all community members. No registration is necessary.
