Thurston County Commissioners to Hold Third Forum on No Shooting Zones

OLYMPIA - Thurston County Commissioners continue their community conversation about No Shooting Zones, Thursday, February 24th, and invite the community to participate.

An ordinance is being proposed that will expand current Controlled Shooting zones in areas of high residential densities and shorelines. County residents are encouraged to view and comment on the proposed ordinance prior to the February 24th meeting. A copy of the ordinance and maps outlining the affected areas can be viewed at www.co.thurston.wa.us/bocc

In addition to the County Commissioners, representatives from the Thurston County Planning Department, Sheriff's Office, and GeoData will be on hand to educate residents on the current policies and procedures and to answer questions and receive feedback regarding the new ordinance. A formal public hearing will be held in the near future.
