Commissioners Appoint Jeff Gadman as Thurston County Treasurer
Jeff Gadman was appointed in a 3-0 vote after an executive session this evening

OLYMPIA - The Thurston County Board of Commissioners held interviews in an open public setting this afternoon for each of the three candidates provided by the Thurston County Democrats. After a closed executive session, the commissioners voted 3-0 to appoint Jeff Gadman as the new Thurston County Treasurer.

"After interviewing the three candidates we felt Mr. Gadman would be the best fit in the treasurer position for our constituents," said Commission Chair Bud Blake. "We look forward to working closely with him."

Shawn Myers, democrat, vacated the Treasurer's position in January after accepting the assistant state treasurer position. The Thurston County Democrats provided the Board of Commissioners a pool of three party recommended candidates to fill the partisan position. Treasurer Jeff Gadman will hold the position until the November election where he must be elected by the voters to keep the seat.
