What: Public Hearing on Impervious Surface Standards in the Residential Sensitive Resource Zoning District in the Tumwater UGA
When: Tuesday July 11, 2017
Time: 3:00 p.m., or soon thereafter
Where: Thurston County Courthouse, Building One, Room 280 at 2000 Lakeridge Drive SW in Olympia, 98502

You can view more detailed information about the proposal and the full text of the proposed ordinance on the Thurston Planning website

Thurston County adopted an amendment in December 2016 to amend the impervious surface standards in the Residential Sensitive Resource 2-4 Dwelling Unit per Acre Zoning District in the Tumwater Urban Growth Area Zoning Ordinance (Title 22) as part of the Low Impact Development Standard updates.

During the implementation, it was found that the newly adopted standard did not account for larger lots found in this zoning district in the unincorporated area of the Tumwater Urban Growth Area. The City of Tumwater completed its review on April 18, 2017.

The Board of County Commissioners invites the public to participate in an informed discussion and provide public testimony at the hearing on July 11. The public may submit written comments in lieu of testimony at the hearing.

Written comments can be emailed to Jeremy Davis, Senior Planner, at davisj@co.thurston.wa.us, or hand delivered or mailed to:

The Board of County Commissions may choose to direct staff to bring a final ordinance forward for adoption after the public hearing, or they may request that staff make changes.
