OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Family and Juvenile Court Center will host its quarterly Student Art Reception, Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 4 p.m.
Student artwork featured at the FJC is selected on a quarterly basis by the FJC Art Committee and paired with a professional art piece. The professional artist is available to speak with those who attend and will answer questions about their art. Students are also given the opportunity to discuss their work.

"Over the years, all of our local public school districts have displayed student art, as have many of our private schools, tribal schools, home school groups, and other civic organizations," said Indu Thomas, Superior Court Commissioner and Chair of the FJC Art Committee. "Community Youth Services maintains a regular display of art created by CYS youth, and Family Education and Support Services routinely provides submissions from the Voices of Children project. We are privileged to have local professional artists who share their work with us as well."
Refreshments are served at the Art Reception and a judicial officer is present to provide tours. The reception is intended to provide young people and their families an opportunity to have a positive experience at FJC.
