Reinvent Your Lawn Workshop March 23rd.

OLYMPIA -- Landscape professionals Howard Stenn and Wayne Kennedy will share years of experience on how to maintain a healthy lawn, deal with pests and weeds, lower your water bill, and have a picnic-ready yard! The Reinvent Your Lawn Workshop will be held Tuesday, March 23, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Lacey Community Center, 6729 Pacific Avenue SE, Lacey, WA 98503. This FREE workshop is sponsored by local water and storm water utilities and Thurston County Common Sense Gardening Program. Please call 360-867-2582 or e-mail venninj@co.thurston.wa.us to register.

Concerns about impacts of lawn care on local streams, lakes, ground water, and Puget Sound led the sponsoring agencies to team up with landscapers to offer the workshop. “A well-maintained natural lawn can be a showcase lawn,” said Howard Stenn, the landscaper presenting Reinvent Your Lawn. “That’s because the principles of natural lawn care are based on good horticulture.” Participants will learn tips from the landscapers and have an opportunity to take home lawn and gardening guides to help ensure their yards do not contribute to local water pollution.
