Public are invited to comment on a proposed change to the Impact Fee Code for Fire Districts and Authorities
OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to accept testimony on a proposed amendment to the Thurston County Impact Fee Code (Title 25). The amendment is to ensure consistency of the code with the recent request by S.E. Thurston Fire Authority for the County to collect impact fees on its behalf.
What: Public Hearing on an Amendment to the Thurston County Impact Fee Code
When: Tuesday January 9, 2018
Time: 3:00 p.m., or soon thereafter
Where: County Courthouse Building One, Room 280 at 2000 Lakeridge Drive SW in Olympia, 98502
The county adopted amendments to the impact fee code in September 2016 and April 2017. The authority to collect impact fees for fire districts and authorities was added, however, it was limited to residential uses. Since then, the County has reviewed the full impact fee request from S.E. Thurston Fire Authority, and an amendment is required to ensure consistency between the fee study and proposed fees requested by the fire authority and county code.
You can view more detailed information about the proposal on the Thurston County Long Range Planning website.
The Board of Commissioners invite the public to participate in an informed discussion and provide public testimony at the hearing on January 9. The public may submit written comments in lieu of testimony.
Written comments can be emailed to Jeremy Davis, Senior Planner, at email@example.com, hand delivered, or mailed to:
Thurston County Resource Stewardship Department
Land Use and Permitting, ATTN: Jeremy Davis

The deadline for written comments is 12 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. The Board of Commissioners may choose to approve the amendment at the end of the January 9 public hearing, or they may request staff make changes to the proposal following the public hearing and adopt at a subsequent Board of Commissioners meeting.
