OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on October 16, 2019 to take comments on the development code docket item A-17, concerning changes to the criteria for approving extensions of time for preliminary plats (subdivisions) and modifying the duration of the extension in Section 18.12.150 of the Thurston County Code (TCC). The hearing will begin at 7:00 p.m., or soon thereafter, at the Thurston County Courthouse.
What: Public Hearing – Proposed Development Code Amendment for Plat Extensions
When: Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. or soon thereafter

Section 18.12.150 of the Thurston County Code “Duration of approval” defines how preliminary plats (subdivisions) are submitted and approved. This includes the required criteria for approval and the amount of time available to meet the criteria. In certain situations, the county may grant extensions to preliminary plat projects, which extends the deadline for final plat approval.
The proposed amendment would increase the maximum amount of years that could by granted through a county extension. Copies of the proposed amendments and supporting documents are available at the Thurston County Community Planning and Economic Development Department, Building Development Center, 2000 Lakeridge Drive SW, Olympia, Washington 98502, or online at: https://www.thurstoncountywa.gov/planning/Pages/devcode-plat-extensions.aspx
