Public Comment Sought on 2020-2021 Preliminary Dockets
Proposed Comprehensive Plan and Development Regulation changes available online

OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Board of Commissioners is seeking public comment on the list of proposed comprehensive plan amendments and development regulation changes for 2020-2021. Written comments must be received by 5:00 p.m., March 4, 2020. If you have already submitted a comment, you do not need to resubmit.

The 2020-2021 Preliminary Development Code Amendment Docket is available online at: https://www.thurstoncountywa.gov/planning/Pages/devcode.aspx 

You can also visit the Building Development Center at 2000 Lakeridge Dr. SW, Olympia, Building 1 for copies of the preliminary dockets.

Residents of unincorporated Thurston County, and those who may be affected by regulatory changes at the county level, are asked to review the preliminary dockets and provide written comments about which proposals the county should address in 2020-2021. 

After public review, the Thurston County Board of Commissioners will select and prioritize proposals from each docket. Proposals will be addressed according to board priorities, as staffing and budget allows. 

Officially Docketed items will then be forwarded to the Thurston County Planning Commission for review. The Planning Commission and the Board of Commissioners will hold public hearings on the merits of the items approved for the Official Dockets prior to adoption of any final regulations.
