Thurston County facilities are now open to the public with restrictions, including maintaining physical distancing of at least six feet at all times and, per the Washington State Secretary of Health’s face covering order wearing a cloth face covering or mask. If you come to county facilities, please be prepared for potentially long wait times or lines due to distancing guidelines. We continue to encourage residents to access county services online, by phone, by email, or through the use of drop boxes located outside of county buildings.

Thurston County Offices Closed September 7 for Labor Day
Offices open for regular business hours on Tuesday, September 8

​OLYMPIA – Thurston County government offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. All offices will re-open for regular business on Tuesday, September 8.

The County's Waste and Recovery Center (WARC) in Lacey will be open on Labor Day (Monday, September 7) from 7:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., however, office staff at the WARC will be unavailable to answer calls or emails. Check with your waste disposal company for curbside garbage and recycling collection schedule.

Other county service information for the Labor Day holiday weekend:

  • Fire and Police Emergency Services: Call 9-1-1 for emergency police, fire, and medic services. Residents are urged to use 9-1-1 for life-threatening emergencies only. 
  • Thurston County Sheriff Non-Emergency Services: Residents of unincorporated Thurston County are urged to call the Sheriff's Office non-emergency number at (360) 704-2740 for non-emergency issues like noise complaints. 9-1-1 should be used for life-threatening emergencies only.
  • County Parks Open: Burfoot Park, Frye Cove Park, Kenneydell Park, and Deschutes Falls Park will be open for regular park hours. The Off-Leash Dog Park at the WARC will also be open during regular park hours.
  • Intercity Transit: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Intercity Transit (IT) is providing limited bus service and the Olympia Transit Center remains closed. You can find service details and more at: https://www.intercitytransit.com/recoveryservice.
