OLYMPIA – Thurston County government offices will be closed on Thursday, November 26, and Friday, November 27, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. All offices will re-open for regular business on Monday, November 30.
The county's Waste and Recovery Center (WARC) in Lacey will be closed on Thursday, November 26, but will re-open for regular business hours Friday, November 27. Gates open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 4:45 p.m. The HazoHouse and the Recycle Center will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Friday, November 27. Check with your waste disposal company for curbside garbage and recycling collection schedule.
Other county service information for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend:
- Fire and Police Emergency Services: Call 9-1-1 for emergency police, fire, and medic services. Residents are urged to use 9-1-1 for life-threatening emergencies only.
- Thurston County Sheriff Non-emergency Services: Residents of unincorporated Thurston County are urged to call the Sheriff's Office non-emergency number at (360) 704-2740 for non-emergency issues like noise complaints.
- County Parks Open: Burfoot Park, Frye Cove Park, Kenneydell Park, and Deschutes Falls Park will be open during regular park hours. The Off-Leash Dog Park at the WARC will also be open during regular park hours.
- Intercity Transit: There will be no bus service provided by Intercity Transit (IT) on Thursday, November 26, and the IT administrative offices will be closed. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Intercity Transit (IT) is providing limited bus service, which will resume on Friday, November 27.
