County Plans for Computer Network Maintenance This Weekend

Thurston County staffers will be working this weekend on maintenance of the county's computer data network from 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 29 until 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 30. The maintenance work will require some of the county systems to be turned off, including the e-mail system, some phones, and some web site links and features, though the bulk of the county web pages will still be available.

Some of the systems that will be impacted by the maintenance work include:

>The county's web site, www.co.thurston.wa.us, will be available, but any features or pages that access internally stored data will be unavailable.

>The Permit Assistance Center's telephone system will be unavailable.

>County e-mail will not be functional.

The Thurston County Sheriff's department communications systems and 9-1-1 services will not be affected by the network maintenance work, and county residents should not experience any problems with calling 9-1-1 in an emergency.
