OLYMPIA Should No-Shooting or Controlled-Shooting zones be expanded or established along certain inlet shorelines of Thurston County? Thats the question area residents can help the Board of County Commissioners answer at a community meeting on June 17th.
The Board of County Commissioners has received requests from several residents who live along or near the shores of Eld and Henderson Inlets to prohibit the discharge of firearms in the vicinity of their homes. At a community meeting last year at the Griffin Fire Station, some in attendance spoke against changes in the shooting zones.
In addition to the County Commissioners, representatives from the Thurston County Planning Department, Sheriffs Department, and the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife will be on hand to educate residents on the current policies and procedures and to answer questions.
