The Thurston County Board of County Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, June 4 regarding the extension of the Ken Lake Interim Regulations.
The public hearing will be to accept public comment on an extension of Ordinance No. 14443, which established interim development regulations for the area to the northwest of Ken Lake. The interim regulations changed the zoning from Residential Four Units per Acre (R-4) to Residential Low Impact Two to Four Units per Acre (RLI 2-4) and adjusted impervious surface standards because of groundwater and flooding concerns in the Ken Lake Basin. The area is bounded by the UGA boundary and Kaiser Road to the west, Highway 101 to the north, and the City of Olympia boundaries to the east and south. The interim regulations will expire on June 7, 2013 if not renewed.
The public hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4 in Building One of the Thurston County Courthouse complex. Written comments may be submitted in lieu of testimony. Please submit written testimony by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4 to Jeremy Davis in the Thurston County Planning Department via email at DavisJ@co.thurston.wa.us
