Clean Out the Clutter This Weekend for Secondhand Safari Oct. 5

With only one week to go until the Thurston County Fair's final Fall Secondhand Safari, this weekend is your chance to clean out the clutter in preparation to make a tidy sum at the October 5 community garage sale.

Starting in 2014, the Secondhand Safari community garage sale event will be held once a year in the spring, so the Thurston County Fair is celebrating this final fall sale with special discounts.

Covered spaces for the October 5 event are now available to anyone with gently used treasures to swap or sell for only $35--that's $5 off the regular price. Call the Thurston County Fair Office at (360) 786-5453 for details and to reserve your booth.

Bargain hunters will surely appreciate the special bargain admission price of only $1 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The final Fall Secondhand Safari will be on Saturday, October 5 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Along with garage sale booths, the Secondhand Safari will also have educational booths, a free book and magazine exchange, food, and more.

Set up for sellers will be on Friday, October 4 from noon to 10 p.m. The doors will be locked after set up Friday evening and security will be on-site until the event opens Saturday.

Representatives from community groups, non-profits, businesses, agencies and individuals working on sustainability issues are invited to sign up for an educational booth or display. Contact the Fair Office at (360) 786-5453 for details.
