THURSTON COUNTY FAMILY AND JUVENILE COURT REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMDR THERAPIST
Olympia- Thurston County Family Recovery Court is requesting statements of qualifications from qualified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) Therapists. Thurston County Superior Court will contract with one or more qualified therapists to provide EMDR individual Trauma Treatment counseling services to participants in the Thurston County Family Recovery Court Program who have co-occurring Trauma/Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) with the Trauma/PTSD as the specific problem to be addressed and volunteer to participate in EMDR treatment. The COURT will evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment counseling services.
The contractor will be responsible for providing his or her own work space, materials, insurance and transportation.
Required qualifications include a Master's degree in a mental health related field from an accredited college or university, a Washington State mental health professional's license, a minimum of two years experience delivering EMDR therapy, and knowledge of the following:
1.EMDR as a free-standing therapy for short term focused interventions or part of a longer term psychotherapy.
2.Addiction, trauma, and attachment models and ability to assess when it is appropriate to prepare clients for the EMDR trauma protocol with addictions. Current concepts and theories that support how to work with Substance Use Disorders and EMDR.
3.Major mental illnesses, including assessment, symptoms, and treatments pertinent to adults diagnosed with Substance Use Disorder.

Statements must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 2, 2014. Late submissions will not be considered.
Staff will review application packets and recommend individuals for interviews.
The Court reserves the right to reject any or all statements of qualifications and to issue no contracts as a result of this RFQ if such a rejection is in the Court's best interest.
