OLYMPIA, WA – Today, Thurston County Auditor Mary Hall swore in eleven new Thurston County elected officials at a formal ceremony at South Puget Sound Community College's Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts.

"We need to be leaders," said Auditor Hall in her welcoming remarks. "We must take office with a goal to work together to solve problems. We must be willing to make the hard decisions and hold ourselves to the highest standards of openness, integrity and ethics."

Those sworn in were: Clerk Linda Enlow; Commissioner Bud Blake; Coroner Gary Warnock; Prosecuting Attorney Jon Tunheim; Sheriff John Snaza; Treasurer Shawn D. Myers; District Court Judges Kalo Wilcox, Sam Meyer and Brett Buckley; and Public Utility Commissioners Russ Olsen and Chris Stearns.

"Work in the public sector is not always easy, but it is incredibly important and necessary work," said U.S. Representative Denny Heck in his keynote address. "Thurston County has a long history of dedication to public service, and the standards are high. I wish all the elected officials the best in their new or continued role."

Last week, Judge Carol Chambers swore in Auditor Mary Hall, who then swore in Steven J. Drew as Assessor.
