Military and Overseas Ballots and Information for the Feb. 10 Special Election

OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Elections Division will deliver approximately 1,200 ballots to the post office on Friday, January 9, 2015 for military and overseas civilian voters in the Tenino and Yelm school districts, both of which have propositions on the February ballot.

Thurston County is conducting Pierce County's Special Election for their voters residing in the Yelm School District. This is because Thurston County contains the majority of the voters in the Yelm Community Schools district and is the only jurisdiction in Pierce County that requested a February Special Election.

This mailing, which begins 30 days prior to the Special Election, is done to provide the military and overseas voters with sufficient time to learn about the issues, vote and return their ballot. Information regarding ballot propositions may be found on the school districts' websites: teninoschools.org and ycs.wednet.edu.

If you are a military and/or overseas voter and have not received a ballot by January 23, 2015, please contact the Thurston County Auditor's Office at (360) 786-5408 for a replacement ballot, or visit ThurstonVotes.org to download a ballot.
