Logic and Accuracy Test for Feb. 10 Special Election
Public can observe ballot machine testing on Jan. 28

OLYMPIA – The Elections Division of the Thurston County Auditor's Office will conduct a "Logic and Accuracy" test on its ballot tabulation machines on Wednesday, January 28 at 2:00 p.m. for the February 10, 2015 Special Election.

A "Logic and Accuracy" test, or "L&A," is a collection of pre-election procedures that ensures voting equipment and ballots used during the upcoming election will properly display the ballot, collect votes and tabulate results.

"The Logic and Accuracy test is a critical step to ensuring accuracy in counting every single vote," said Thurston County Auditor Mary Hall. "We are always eager to demonstrate to the public the accuracy in tabulation and openness in ballot processing."

Citizens are welcome and encouraged to observe all steps of the election process, including the L&A test, which takes place at the Ballot Processing Center, located at 2905 29th Ave SW, Suite E, Tumwater.

Anyone wishing to observe the L&A test should contact the Auditor's Office at(360) 786-5408 or elections@co.thurston.wa.us to arrange a tour.
