Public is invited to learn more about disaster planning and prep for large and small animals
The Thurston County Animal Response Coalition is looking for people who love and care for animals large and small and who are willing to volunteer to help animals and their owners if disaster strikes.
The Thurston County Animal Response Coalition has teamed up with Thurston County Emergency Management to host an open house on Sunday, June 14 on animal disaster preparedness. Attendees will learn more about how they can volunteer with disaster response for animal owners, animal welfare agencies, animal related businesses, and the agriculture industry, plus other information on how they can plan and prepare for their own animals in the event of an emergency or natural disaster.
The open house is free and open to all community members. No registration is necessary. Details are available by contacting Hollie Smith, Thurston County Animal Response Coalition at (360) 584-5186 or via email at ThurstonCountyAnimalResponse@gmail.com
