OLYMPIA, WA – The Thurston County Auditor's Office encourages community residents to get involved in the election process by running for elected office. The 2019 election season begins Monday, May 13 with the start of Candidate Filing Week. For a list of offices up for election, visit ThurstonVotes.org to see our 2019 Candidate Guide.
Filing Week is May 13 - 17. Candidates may file:
|Online||Monday, May 13 at 9 a.m. through Friday, May 17 at 4 p.m.|
|In person||Monday, May 13 through Friday, May 17, daily 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.|
|By mail||Filings must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17|
Filing fees vary for each elected position. Candidates can pay online with Visa, American Express, or MasterCard; in person; by mail; or by filing fee petition. Filing fees are nonrefundable and must be received in the Thurston County Auditor's Office by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17.
Candidate filings received after 4:30 p.m. Friday will not be accepted. The order of candidates listed on the ballot will be determined by random lot drawing after 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
