The Thurston County Crisis Negotiation Team is comprised of highly dedicated negotiators from multiple law enforcement agencies within Thurston County. Utilizing specialized training and advanced electronic equipment, the CNT deploys with Thurston County SWAT for barricaded subjects who pose an immediate threat to life. CNT personnel are also utilized as a two-person de-escalation team and called in to critical scenes to speak with people in crisis.

In order to maintain the skillset that a crisis negotiator is required to possess, the CNT trains quarterly throughout the year.
